Before we start any job, we carry out a proper inspection - checking not just the tiles or felt, but the timberwork underneath, the flashings, guttering junctions, and any areas where water could track in. We take photographs and talk you through what we find. That way, you understand exactly what work is being done and why, and there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.
We use materials suited to the job and the property. On older Cambridge houses with handmade clay tiles or Welsh slate, we source matching materials wherever possible, because a patch that stands out visually usually means it was not bedded or fixed correctly either. On modern properties, we follow manufacturer guidance for interlocking concrete tiles and lead flashing work. Getting the details right at the time of repair is what prevents the same area failing again.
